National FFA Week is Here!
We’ve got a busy and exciting week ahead as we celebrate FFA Week! We encourage everyone to come out, show your support, and participate in our dress-up days. Let’s see that school spirit and FFA pride all week long! 💙💛
We’ll wrap up the week on Saturday with our annual FFA Community Breakfast in the cafeteria with pancakes and sausage. We hope you’ll join us for great food and fellowship as we celebrate our members and supporters.
Thank you for always supporting our FFA chapter — it truly makes a difference!

Our first grade students just wrapped up their Celebrating America unit! 🇺🇸 Throughout the unit, they learned about important holidays and symbols that tell the story of our country. We voted to see which one we thought was the best and the Bald Eagle won. To finish it off, students brought their learning to life by creating 3-D printed structures of Mount Rushmore, the Liberty Bell, and the Statue of Liberty. Hands-on learning, creativity, and lots of pride in our great nation—way to go, first graders! A big thank you to Mrs. Hutchison for her help and guidance during the 3D building process. ❤️🤍💙

Earlier this week at the High Plains Technology Center, students from across the region gathered for the Oklahoma North West Academic Conference (ONWAC) banquet and awards ceremony. The event honored 18 outstanding Academic Team competitors who won their conference and were recognized as All-Conference Players, All-Conference Team members, and Conference All-Stars.
All-Conference Players are those who scored the most points and answered the most questions throughout the season — a true testament to both knowledge and quick thinking. We are incredibly proud to share that Bridger Hursh represented Okeene as an All-Conference Player and was also named one of just five Conference All-Stars, recognizing him as a top five competitor across both the North and West conferences.
In team awards, Cimarron earned 1st place in the North region with Timberlake taking 2nd, while in the West region Vici claimed 1st and Mooreland placed 2nd.
What an incredible accomplishment for Bridger, Coach Wray and for Okeene! Their hard work, dedication, and academic excellence continue to make our community proud. Congratulations to Bridger, Coach Wray and the entire Okeene Academic Team!

There are several upcoming National ACT testing dates approaching, so we wanted to be sure to let you know about registration deadlines as well. If your child is not signed up by March 6th for the April 11th test, you'll want to do that soon.

Okeene Dentistry and Braces visited Okeene Elementary School to speak with our Pre-K through 6th grade students about the importance of good dental hygiene. They shared valuable tips on flossing, brushing for a full two minutes, and the importance of visiting the dentist every six months for regular checkups. We would like to extend a huge thank you to Okeene Dentistry and Braces, Dr. Cuevas, and his entire team for taking the time to educate and encourage our students to build healthy habits that will last a lifetime. We truly appreciate your support of our school and community!

Yesterday, the Okeene FFA Officers attended FFA Day at the Capitol. The officers had the opportunity to hear from the Speaker of the House, the Senate Pro Tempore, and other key legislative leaders. They also met with Representative Mike Dobrinski and Senator Darcy Jech to discuss the Oklahoma FFA program and current agricultural legislation.
It was a great day of leadership, advocacy, and representing agricultural education at the state level.

A new sidewalk is being poured behind the old gym. Students need to avoid this area before, during, and after school. JH/HS students will need to walk around the old gym for Ag class and go out the auditorium doors for STEM, lunch and band. Elementary students should not be back there at all over the next several days. Please help us facilitate this by reminding your students to take a different route when going to band, Ag, STEM and lunch. Thank you!

Second graders turned history class into an exciting hands-on experience this week by using a 3D printer to create a “Mystery President” for their classmates to guess. The project combined technology, research, creativity, and a whole lot of curiosity as students explored the lives of past and current U.S. presidents in a fun and interactive way.
The students who correctly guessed the “Mystery President” were entered into a drawing to receive the presidential bust. Also, each student received a miniature replica of the president of their choice.
Thank you Mrs. Hutchison for sharing this project and sparking excitement about learning.
