Market Day in 2nd grade was an exciting way to become an entrepreneur and learn all about our economy. Students worked together to design a store front and create items for 1st graders to purchase.🤑

7th–9th Grade Book Report Brilliance!
Our 7th–9th ELA students absolutely crushed their Semester 2 book reports! Each student read a fictional chapter book, gave a thoughtful summary to the class, and brought a food item that creatively connected to their book. The level of application and critical thinking it took to link literature with something tangible like food is truly impressive—and they mastered it.
They are not just great readers, but confident speakers and skilled presenters. Watching them shine and share their ideas with such clarity and creativity was a highlight of the semester. Their growth this year has been incredible, and I could not be prouder!
Creative & Crazy Book Report Foods
Our students went all out connecting food to their nonfiction reads! Check out some of the amazing (and wild!) items they brought:
🍝 Cupcakes topped with “spaghetti and meatball” candy
🍬 Gummy bears linked to survival stories
🏍️ Dirt bike track cake—complete with icing trails and ramps
🍰 Homemade cheesecake to represent sweet success
🚫🍹 “Don’t Drink and Drive” mocktails with a powerful message
📿 Candy necklaces to tie in personal journeys and identity
📘 Cakes decorated like the actual front cover of their book
🍕 Pizza, representing teamwork and sharing in a sports memoir
🎨 Apple pie and SO much more!
These students didn’t just read—they connected, created, and wowed us all. Their level of insight and creativity was truly unforgettable.
Thank you Mrs. Feely for helping us find great books and thank you to the parents for the support at home with their food!
