Students attending summer school needing bus transportation must please contact the Superintendent’s office to verify a pickup, location of pickup & contact info. Buster Aldrich will contact each parent/legal guardian to verify the pickup time/place. To have bus service provided the first day of school, please contact the Superintendent's office by 3PM on Thursday, June 1st with the above info. Service can also be added during the course of the summer school session should it be needed.


Cheer tryout practice times have moved to 9:00-10:00 for tomorrow.

Okeene students in elementary, junior high and high school celebrated the Class of 2023 seniors during the annual "Grad Walk" through the schools. Graduation ceremonies will be tomorrow, Friday May 19, 2023 at 7:00 pm in OHS Auditorium.











The elementary school was challenged to read 30 million words over the 2022-2023 school year. Our students met the goal so they got to make Mr. Cox into a human ice cream sundae. 🍨










Mrs. Penner's art classes worked on two murals this year. 🧬🎭 Her two morning classes worked on the speech and drama mural, while her two afternoon classes worked on the science mural. The classes are a combination of Art 1, 2 and 3 and consist of Freshman through Seniors. 🎨










The last day of school is tomorrow! The elementary awards assembly will be at 8:15am and the high school assembly will be at 10:00am. We will be have an early release at 1:00pm!

High School TAG toured the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation this past week and learned about forensic biology, latent evidence, trace evidence, forensic toxicology, and firearms and toolmarks.


The Okeene Whippet Boosters hosted the annual All Sports Banquet last week. Coaches shared highlights from the basketball, cheer, cross country, softball and track seasons, presenting individual and letter awards to high school athletes and honoring Seniors. Each of the High School teams also presented their coaches with gifts of appreciation for the time, energy and talent they have devoted to the Whippet teams this year.





OHS National Honor Society recently held an Installation Ceremony, inducting new members and honoring Senior members. Following the ceremony, the members visited the Oklahoma City capital as guests of State Representative Mike Dobrinski and then enjoyed lunch and an Escape Room adventure. New members inducted for the 2022-2023 school year, pictured with sponsors Tara Fisher, Ginny Dobrinski and Chavonne Penner- Diego Lopez, Gracie Robinson, Edan Chasteen, Meade Brickman, and Ashley Birdwell.

5th & 6th graders went to Skate Town and had a picnic at Meadowlake Park for their final class field trip. 🛼🌳🛝


2nd and 3rd grade visited the Watonga Public Library today for a visit with award winning author-illustrator, Hannah E. Harrison. She has written several books including Extraordinary Jane, My Friend Maggie and most recently, the 2023 Redbud winner, Poopsie Gets Lost.
