28 Okeene 5/6th graders were rewarded with a beautiful day of baseball at the Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark today for earning their points in Accelerated Reader. Students had weekly point goals to keep their reading on track for success. They received a free meal & OKC ball cap. OKC got the win!

FCCLA State convention 2024 was filled with activities. The students got to dance the night away with Silent Disco, listen to amazing inspirational speakers, and experience the Tulsa Zoo.








A Celestial Event ☀️


Today Mrs.Unruh's 1st grade class celebrated National Schwa Day!!! Schwa is the most commonly used unstressed vowel sound found in multiple syllable words!! Students wore pajamas and sunglasses, read about the Schwa sound, and did various learning activities. Finally, they finished the day off with a movie and snacks that make the sound. What a wonderful day of learning!!





Mrs. Krause was selected as our Merrifield's Office Supply Elementary Teacher of the Month. She is currently teaching one of our 2nd grade classes. Congratulations! 👩🏻🏫🍎

Kindergarten earned a compliment party for good behavior. They chose a STEM activity with Mrs. Hutchinson and ozobots! We have some future coders in our elementary! 🤖








Okeene PRE-K Pre-Enrollment for the 2024-2025 school year is Thursday, April 18th from 12-4 in the PRE-K classroom. Please bring your child's birth certificate, social security card, and shot record. Child must turn 4 before September 1st.

There will be two 5 inning games. Seniors will be honored in between games.
Our Seniors this year are: Brody Jinkens, Will Karbs, Kyle Lewis, Reiley Luckie, and Bryer Roberts.

The Okeene Promenade will start at 6:30pm tonight behind The Corner for those that wish to attend.

Mrs. Krause's 2nd graders painted rocks and placed them on Rocko the Rock Snake at First National Bank.


3rd grade had the wonderful opportunity to learn all about pioneer life at the Cherokee Strip Museum. We studied in the school house, did chores, ground corn, carried water, and learned about the Land Run!










We will be conducting an intruder drill today. Students will be out of the building at some point, but there is no need to be alarmed, as this is just a drill.

The Finals of the Redbud Read-Aloud Challenge were held on Tuesday, April 2nd! And the winner is.....Puppy Bus by Drew Brockington! Thank you to the Okeene Public Library and Mrs. Henri Blehm and our PreK through 2nd grade teachers for a successful reading challenge! Mrs. Feely loved the "March Madness" of reading!
