This week, the Okeene Public Library was transformed into a Whippet STEM lab as future engineers embarked on a thrilling catapult challenge! Utilizing the engineering design process, they built catapults using popsicle sticks, rubber bands, and spoons. Then these aspiring engineers launched pom-poms to test and analyze their catapults, observing distances and trajectories, and redesigned their prototypes to maximize performance. These young minds concluded their workshop with a read-aloud of the book “Rosie Revere Engineer”.
A special thank you to Miss Hutchison, the dedicated library staff, and other enthusiastic helpers for making this event a success.

This week, the Oklahoma State Department of Education sent an email to parents containing sharp criticisms of public schools, administrators, and the way Child Nutrition Programs are managed and operated. We would like to take a moment to share a clear and factual picture of how we manage these very important areas at Okeene Public Schools.
