Drawing on his background in education, along with his quick wit and humor, Spears deeply resonated with the audience. From moments of laughter to heartfelt reflection, teachers left motivated and encouraged, embracing a renewed sense of purpose, passion, and positivity for the upcoming school year. This week, the Okeene Public Library was transformed into a Whippet STEM lab as future engineers embarked on a thrilling catapult challenge! Utilizing the engineering design process, they built catapults using popsicle sticks, rubber bands, and spoons. Then these aspiring engineers launched pom-poms to test and analyze their catapults, observing distances and trajectories, and redesigned their prototypes to maximize performance. These young minds concluded their workshop with a read-aloud of the book “Rosie Revere Engineer”.
